The Board of Directors of Friends in Need is comprised of a broad spectrum of community members from all walks of life. The Board is charged with the task of helping to guide policy and find ways to better serve the communities Friends in Need serves.

The Board meets for a general meeting six times a year as well as Policy and Financial meetings during alternate months. An annual meeting which is open to the public is held each May and is announced in the South Washington County Bulletin newspaper. All members of the community are invited to attend the Annual Meeting and tour the Friends in Need facility.

Board members serve a term of six years and are elected from a pool of nominees brought to the Board by current Board members and volunteers. The Board is comprised of a mixture of Friends in Need volunteers as well as members of the community at large.
